Locusrite Invests in Advanced GPTCB Production Lines to Increase Capacity and Efficiency
Locusrite has successfully commissioned three new state-of-the-art production lines dedicated to the manufacture of its industry-leading GPTCB Galvanised Perforated Thin Coat Bead, significantly increasing both production capacity and manufacturing efficiency.
Installed as part of the company’s recent expansion into a neighbouring facility, the new lines represent a major investment in manufacturing technology and process improvement. While the additional lines increase overall output capacity, the real achievement lies in the engineering innovations incorporated into the new equipment.
Through a redesigned manufacturing process, the new production lines are capable of producing GPTCB at a substantially higher speed than previous generations of machinery. This increased production cadence enables Locusrite to manufacture significantly greater volumes of product without compromising quality or consistency.
The investment comes in response to continued demand for GPTCB, which has been one of Locusrite’s best-selling products for many years. Widely specified and distributed across the UK, the bead has earned a strong reputation among contractors, merchants and plastering professionals for its quality, reliability and ease of installation.
As well as delivering increased production speeds, the new lines have been engineered for improved durability and operational reliability. Their enhanced robustness reduces the likelihood of production interruptions, helping to minimise downtime and ensure a more consistent manufacturing process.

The commissioning of the new lines forms part of a wider programme of investment across the business following Locusrite’s expansion to a 35,000 sq ft manufacturing and warehousing facility.
